Florida: A Ghostly Message in the Bradenton Burial Grounds (2 Pics)

In 1925, two gentlemen by the names of Harry Kellim and George Thacker purchased twenty-seven acres of land in what is now Bradenton, Florida. The land became dedicated as a burial ground, and the two men had many plans to expand and grow their services.

By 1945, a crematory was added, and by 1957 Harry Kellim’s widow purchased sixteen additional acres and built a funeral home and a cremation garden lined with beautiful orange trees.

Ghost Girl in the Bradenton Cremation Gardens

Today, Manasota Memorial Park is considered one of the most beautiful burial and cremation parks in the area. For Florida native, Kara, it is the only place she’s ever imagined as being her final resting place. Diagnosed with a rare strain of cancer, Kara became convinced that her death would be soon and at too young of an age.

“It sounds incredibly morbid now, but I was getting steadily worse a few months back, and something deep inside me told me it would be wise to prepare for the end,” she said, with a deep and unsure shrug. “I would come to Manasota Park and walk around amongst the headstones and the in the cremation garden.”

“It was beautiful and peaceful there, in a quiet and unusual way…it’s hard to articulate. At the time, I was visiting the park multiple times a week, and had included being buried there in my legalized will. …But everything changed one Monday night.”

A Strange Interlude

“It was late, and Manasota had already technically closed to visitors. Autumn was in full swing and a harvest moon made the entire cemetery fairly bright and easy to see,” Kara said. “I had rounded a corner and came to an area in the park where several benches line the trail, facing the headstones.

“And seated on a bench was a full bodied apparition of a young girl! I stopped and blinked a couple of times to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating,” Kara said with a soft laugh. “She was wearing a brightly colored sundress—far too thin a dress for the crisp, fall night.

“Her hair was tucked into a long braid down her back… And the strangest thing was that I knew she could sense me, but she had her back turned to me, and I couldn’t see her face. ’Hello Kara,’ the girl said to me in a rather singsong voice.

“I immediately thought that this girl was somehow an angel, meant to aid me in my approaching final days,” Kara whispered. ‘Are you…are you my guardian angel?’

“The ghost girl laughed, all the while still not turning to look at me. ’No, no silly…I was told you had become rather gloomy,’ she added, teasingly.

“’Actually I am here on behalf of your grandmother…she thought if you saw her, you would faint on the spot,’ the girl giggled.

‘My-my grandmother?’

“’Yes,” the girl nodded, still looking out towards the park. ‘She asked me to appear before you to tell you that you need to stop being so gosh darn melancholy.’

‘And that you’re going to be living a lot longer, despite your absurd beliefs.’

“I swallowed a few times, trying to process what this strange spirit was telling me,” Kara said, at a loss. “’You mean…I’m not dying?’ I asked, feeling a hope bubble up inside of me. “The girl shook her head, her braid jerking back and forth.

“’Not for a long, long while,’ the girl said, and I could hear a smile in her voice. My family still owns my grandmother’s home in Bradenton, and I think I found my young visitor in one of her old scrapbooks,” Kara said with a smile. “I’ve been making big plans since that amazing, fateful night.”

When it comes to food, the Lone Star state cuts no corners. From deliciously spicy chili to large tantalizing grilled meats, there’s something to appease even the finickiest palate. And if you visit one of the oceanfront restaurants in Texas, you can indulge in seafood while surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico. But there may be one more thing that these restaurants don’t usually advertise: ghosts.

Because of the bloody history of the coastal region, many spirits haunt it. And if you’re anywhere near the following nine supposedly haunted restaurants, you can expect to experience the paranormal or see a ghost.

The 9 Best Oceanfront Restaurants in Texas to Eat at and See a Ghost

9) Charlotte Plummer’s Seafare Restaurant, Fulton

Serving the freshest seafood since the mid-1970s, Charlotte Plummer’s Seafare Restaurant is a local favorite. It’s especially famous for fried shrimp, seafood gumbo, and authentic hush puppies. Further enhancing the food’s flavor is the beautiful view of the Rockport marina.

There may be something else this restaurant has to offer. And it’s definitely not on the menu: a ghostly entity.

A group of tourists, which included two California psychics, started screaming because they saw a child jump from the docks. One woman ran outside and jumped into the water behind him. But she couldn’t grab the child or see his body anywhere in the water.

Since no one else saw him, no one believed her. But a thorough search by paranormal investigatorsrevealed that she may have seen a ghost. Maybe you can prove her right if you too see him at Charlotte Plummer’s Seafare Restaurant.

8) Sharky’s Waterfront Grill, Kingwood

Sharky’s is a local favorite for fresh seafood lovers. Also famed for its Great White Shark Burger and Whale Shark Sundae, it’s a great place to take the whole family. You can even go alone to enjoy the spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico as you treat your palate to the restaurant’s offerings.

But only venture there if you think you can handle seeing an apparition.

A few people who visited Sharky’s claim that they saw the ghosts of soldiers stumble around the restaurant. Considering how the Gulf of Mexico is the permanent home of several WWII wreckages, there may be some truth to these claims.

7) The Spot, Galveston

The Spot in Galveston, Texas

houstoniamag.com

If you’re in Galveston, you can’t afford not dropping by The Spot. This popular hangout is famous for its lightly fried shrimp served on homemade po-boy bun. You can also head to one of the bars or dessert parlor located on the same property.

While taking in the wonderful views of the Gulf of Mexico, however, never forget you’re on an extremely haunted island.

If the stories are true, the Spot may also have a few ghosts of its own.

Though none of the ghosts have revealed themselves, a few diners have experienced cold spots. The ghosts have also played pranks on patrons, messing with their electronic devices or hiding their things. So, if your things go missing for some time, you can probably suspect The Spot’s resident spirits.

6) Flying Dutchman, Kemah

Flying Dutchman in Kemah, Texas

The Flying Dutchman at the Kemah Boardwalk is one of the exciting oceanfront restaurants in Texas. Not only do you get to enjoy the beauty of the Gulf coast, you can dig in fresh seafood and Cajun dishes. Another aspect that makes this restaurant exciting is the possibility of running into the spirit of a dead girl.

According to a couple who visited it in 2012, they heard soft taps on the window behind them. They turned to look outside and saw a little girl in an outdated pink dress. The child smiled their way and ran off.

Resuming their conversation, they heard taps again after five minutes. The child laughed when they looked her way and ran away. She repeated this two more times. The fifth time they heard the taps, no one was there. The tapping continued. Only this time, it was done by an invisible hand.

5) Boathouse Bar & Grill, Corpus Christi

Boathouse Bar & Grill in Corpus Christi Texas

Located on Padre Island, the Boathouse Bar & Grill promises a mouthwatering menu which you can enjoy in the waterfront patio. There are also four full bars that serve signature margaritas, wine, and a selection of beers.

What you may not know is that there are other types of spirits in this restaurant.

While at the Boathouse’s bar, few people report seeing a young woman standing against the wall. She would watch everyone without interacting with them.

A college student spotted her once and decided to talk to her. She continuously glared at him before walking through the wall behind her.

Though you may not get to see her, you’ll still go home with a full belly and great memories courtesy of the Boathouse Bar & Grill.

4) Redfish Willie’s, Aransas Pass

Redfish Willie’s Aransas in Pass, Texas

cambriascapers.blogspot.com

An award-winning restaurant, Redfish Willie’s is renowned for seafood, pasta, and Cajun dishes. The waterfront grill offers pavilions where friends and families can gather to enjoy a meal with a view. You can also listen to live music as you dig in over the weekend.

While you’re there, though, you may want to check under the table from time to time.

The spirit of a mischievous boy reportedly plays pranks on diners. According to one, he was surprised when he felt something touch his leg. When he looked under the table, he saw a boy laugh and tip his hat. The boy then disappeared in front of his eyes.

Another story tells how the boy tied the shoelaces of another diner and laughed when he tripped. But, apparently, it was the man’s fault as he had scolded him and told him to get out from under his table. So, don’t antagonize Redfish Willie’s ghost unless you want to become his next prank’s victim.

3) Pier 99 Restaurant, Corpus Christi

Pier 99 Restaurant in Corpus Christi, Texas

Famous as the largest patio on the water in the coastal bend, Pier 99 is one of the more popular oceanfront restaurants in Texas. It offers great views of the water and the USS Lexington from the deck. The menu is also designed to please every palate. From burgers to seafood, you’ll definitely find what you want.

There’s more to Pier 99 though. According to some diners, the place is haunted by a native Indian ghost.

Possibly one of the Karankawa Indians who lived on this beach, the ghost keeps a close watch on the diners. According to one, she believed the ghost was a statue until she saw his eyes follow him. When she asked the waiter about it, he told her that there was no such statue on the property. Unsure what to make of it, she consulted several of the best phone psychics she knew and they all agreed: the spirit of a dead native lives on the premises.

If you do see this ghost during your visit to the restaurant, just remember to be respectful.

2) Mikel May’s Beachside Bar & Grill, Corpus Christi

Mikel May’s Beachside Bar & Grill in Corpus Christi, Texas

edward m./yelp

At Mikel May’s, it’s always vacation time. The sports bar and grill overlooks the Gulf of Mexico, offering great views of the water. You can also enjoy affordable yet delicious entrees, such as crab and shrimp nachos and steak sandwich.

But what the brochures won’t tell you is that Mikel May’s Beachside Bar & Grill may be haunted.

Over the years, especially during football season, diners claim seeing the ghost of an elderly man. He would intently watch the TV and shout whenever his team lost. A woman claims that he hurled the salt shaker at the bartender during the last Super Bowl.

So, if you’re ever at the bar and you notice a deathly pale old man watching the TV, consider steering away from his path.

1) Gaido’s Seafood Restaurant, Galveston

komissarovGaido’s Seafood Restaurant in Galveston, Texas_a/flickr

Gaido’s Seafood Restaurant is famous for blending southern deep-frying with Southwest open-flame grilling and Creole flavors. It prides itself on its personal service and freshest seafood, two of many factors that make it The Coastal Classic.

But there may be one more reason Gaido’s has remained consistent: the watchful eye of its ghostly founder.

Several diners claim S.G. Gaido dropped by their table to ask them how the food and service was. One diner wrote that Guido tried taking his plate away when he said the food was a little dry. But he became frustrated when he couldn’t pick up the plate and apologized before disappearing into thin air.

The Dark Paranormal Energy Inside This Sonoma Valley Barn Is Strong Enough To Make You Cry (2 Pics)

Somewhere along the numerous vineyards and wineries that can be found in Sonoma Valley stands anabandoned barn that stores such a strong paranormal force that those who have somehow ended inside it wish to never be near it again.

Sonoma Valley in Sonoma County, California

What exactly is happening in this old Sonoma Valley barn?

The Awful Presences That Inhabit The Barn

Located in the southeast part of Sonoma County, California, Sonoma Valley is historically known as the place of birth of the Californian wine industry, a land where most of the oldest and notable wineries of the state reside, some of these being over a hundred and fifty years old.

Sonoma Valley is also residence to at least two State Historic Parks, a Botanical Garden and several other places that still preserve many centuries of history.

What most of the tourists ignore is that this California valley is also home to a barn that might have once been used for farming but is now long forgotten and, seemingly, inhabited by a strong and terrifying supernatural presence that will bring those who enter it to tears, if they are brave enough not to scream.

It is not known what could have happened to make its former owners walk out of it. Some locals dare to say it is likely that the paranormal energy itself might have forced them to leave, although there is no possible way to prove this as it happened several decades ago.

What the rumor holds is that the dark and sinister presence that once took over the barn only grows stronger and more menacing with time.

Threatening Paranormal Forces In Sonoma Valley

You can hear the cries of these children inside the barn.

gothically insane/facebook

No one is certain of what inhabits the barn: all that the few people that have dared to go in affirm is that it is evil and it does not have good intentions or want you there at all.

A young woman that was driving through the Valley with two other friends found herself going inside the barn after the others insisted in checking it out.

“We saw it from a distance, standing there so ghastly in such a beautiful valley. Of course the boys wanted to go in. I refused at first, but waiting alone in the car wasn’t much of a better option. It seemed to me that the sky clouded up around us, if that’s possible”, the woman details.

Once she went inside, a gloomy feeling took over, and the air turned heavy. “The door shut behind us, and there were still cracks on the walls that let the light come in, but we felt immediately trapped. None of us gave another step. There were presences with us, several of them. And they were not the good kind”.

“Suddenly, we heard a baby crying in the darkness”, she remembers with a frightened expression on her face. “That did it for all of us, we ran for the door and managed to get in the car and drive away. A few miles later, I broke into tears. It still gives me goose bumps, the memory. I would have never forgiven the boys for that if it weren’t because I saw they were pale and terrified themselves”

She finishes, “There are some places you really don’t want to go in at all, and that Sonoma Valley barn is definitely one of them!”

Haunted Santa Barbara: Insidious Apparition Lingers At This Park (2 Pics)

In the southeast part of Santa Barbara, the largest privately-funded park in the United States – Elings Park – sits sprawled across the cityscape.  Whether it’s hiking or playing sports, running around on the playground equipment or just enjoying beautiful landscaping that gets your motor running, you can be assured that Elings Park is going to have it all for you.  Just make sure that you leave before dark, because sometimes things get a little spooky after nightfall…

Those who have seen her call her Queen Maab, after the Shakespeare line of course.  If the local rumors and the stories of those from elsewhere who have spent any length of time in the park are true, she comes outas the sun is setting each night, and wanders the park like a shadowed breeze.  She is the spirit queen of the realm, a dark and beautiful woman whose presence lingers long after you have run away in terror.

The Ghostly Woman Walks The Lonely Paths Of Elings Park At Night

This Queen Maab has been known to whisper details of her life, and sometimes a visitor will hear what he or she at first assumes to be a breath of wind blowing through the trees, but which will carry with it the resonant vibrations of chilling words. Unlike so many restless spirits, who wander the earth after they have perished (often at the hands of another), Queen Maab seems to be paying some sort of penance for her own act of murder.

Whispers are all the details she gives, and the rare person who hears them generally does not have enough information from which to extrapolate the whole story, but it is safe to say that she suffers from guilt over something she did in her earthly life.

Her Haunted Eyes Tell A Story Of Sorrow And Fear

The Ghostly Woman Walks The Lonely Paths Of Elings Park At Night

“In the old days,” says one man, whose native forebears left the area over a century ago, but who came back and resettled their roots within the past twenty years or so, “it was understood by my people that the woman was to be left alone.  That she carried the sorrow of her deeds, and that for one reason or another she was doomed to carry it alone.  There were no thrill-seekers trying to make her come out at night, or trying to get her to release the secrets that she carries to the wind.

“If anything, people didn’t want to know, because whatever it was that had her so troubled might be visited in some way upon you if you were to pry it out of her.  People today may be smart, but they seem to lack the wisdom that members of my tribe once had in the long ago.  It would be best for everyone if they left her alone; let her grieve the mistakes she made in the past life throughout the course of this one, and perhaps check yourself on a regular basis to make sure that you don’t end up making the same mistakes – after all, how would you like to spend eternity suffering for the sins of your past?”

Texas: Beware The Black Magic At This Private Marfa Scrapyard (2 Pics)

In the high desert of the Trans-Pecos in West Texas sits a little two-thousand-soul town called Marfa.  If you’re the sort of tourist who enjoys visiting art museums, though, you might enjoy the place: for the past few decades, Marfa has been a favored destination for those seeking minimalist art and historical architecture.  Plus, if you know who to ask or where to look, you might just run across the spookiest scrapyard you’ve ever seen.

Beware The Black Magic At This Private Marfa Scrapyard

Strange Rituals Are Seen Being Practiced Here

It’s a dusty little bump on the outer skin of the town, a windblown factory for the creaking of rusted metal as it tries to escape the tireless gravitational pull that has been every junk heap since the invention of the sport.  Few of the people you might talk to in town about it will admit to having been out there, but one often gets the sense that at least some of these people aren’t telling the whole truth.  The occasional local who does talk about it will say the same things as those who are visitors and stumble upon the place: something very, very wrong is going on there.

“First of all,” says one of the few locals who would talk to me about it (and then only after I had purchased a few beers for him at the local watering hole), “I ain’t never seen a place that was weirder’n that damned junk heap.  You got’cher drums playin’ all hours of the day and night, for one; them drums and the weirdchantin’ would be enough to drive you batshit by theyselves, but it don’t stop there.”  Here he leaned conspiratorially toward me and whispered, “Animals that go in there don’t come out alive…and sometimes humans don’t, neither.”

Strange Chants Give Way To Bloodcurdling Screams Late At Night

imgur.com

Strange Chants Give Way To Bloodcurdling Screams Late At Night

While the idea of human sacrifice may seem dubious, it is quite possibly the chief reason that so few of the town’s inhabitants are willing to talk about the place; there seems to be a genuine fear rippling among them, perhaps the idea that one of them may be next on the list.

My friend with the drinking problem seemed to think that this was the case – he claimed that not only could you sometimes hear people screaming from the location at night, but also that occasionally if you drive by during the day, you might actually witness the owner (a man whose name no one seems to know, but whom everyone agrees is from Sumatra) spreading blood of some variety over the fence posts at the entrance.  “Ain’t natural, what’s goin’ on in there, not much question of that.”

So if you ever happen to be in Marfa, you might enjoy taking in all of the art, the architecture, the scenery.  You might even spot the occasional stereotypical tumbleweed rolling across the street at high noon.  But whatever you do, try to avoid the scrapyard sitting out on the edge of town; going there could be your last mistake.

Haunted Miami Campground: The Ghosts of Larry and Penny Thomson Park (2 Pics)

Larry and Penny Thompson Park is always a great choice for those who are looking to spend a few nights away sleeping in a tent. This Miami campground has 270 acres of forests, a freshwater lake to swim in and several trails for avid hikers or horse riders to enjoy.

Miami Campground - Larry and Penny Thompson Park in Miami, Florida

zoila stincer/flickr

Along with all that, it also has a number of malicious spirits that occasionally want their presence to be known by the park campers.

A Haunted Miami Campground

Standing in the same field that is home to the Miami Zoo, the Larry and Penny Thomson Park was created as a memorial to the Miami Herald cartoonist, Larry Thompson, who was a devoted naturalist and wildlife lover. Natural beauty was schemed to take over the park, and its visitors can appreciate it even in the smallest wildflowers.

However, the park has been reported to have unwanted inhabitants that might not have been part of the plan in the first place, but still took over the field as years passed by.

It is told, by some of the visitors that have experienced strange phenomena, that there are foreign presences in places of the campground that create a malevolent atmosphere when they are around.

Whoever these ghosts are, no one has found a clear answer, but they seem to find pleasure in playing nasty deeds on the park’s visitors, especially when it comes to hiding their most important belongings.

From car keys and wallets to whole bags of food, the dead that roam the Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park have created great inconvenience to the visitors that have been forced to return home without their spare keys or any of their bank cards.

These spirits are not in constant action and they rarely show themselves, but occasionally, an unlucky camper will see shadows or hear whispers in the dark, threatening those who dare to listen.

Spirits With Malicious Intentions

Spirits With Malicious Intentions

unicorniallychromantic/tumblr

As things go missing, some other stuff show up in the campground as well. A low number of visitors have reported finding old belongings and even voodoo figures near their tens. A camper with a particularly dreadful experience retells the story that left him unable to sleep at night:

“The same day I arrived at the park, I went to the lake and swam for a while. When I came back to mycamping spot, the sun was setting”, he says.

“I was flabbergasted, ALL my things were out of the tent and scattered all over the ground as if someone had been looking for something.” The young man says he thought at first it might have been an intent of robbery but no one was camping anywhere near him that day. What happened next showed him how wrong he was.

“As I was organizing all of my things again, I noticed there were things that weren’t my own. They were dolls made out of sticks and feathers, like the ones used for voodoo and that sort of thing. That scared me a lot, I took them all and threw them away as far as I could”.

“Later that night, scared as I was, I was trying to fall asleep when I started hearing angry voices around my tent. Men’s voices. Then, suddenly, they started kicking my tent. I felt the feet of four or five man trying to hurt me from the outside”.

Somehow, between the fear and the shock, he crawled out of the floor and opened the tent door to see who was playing such a nasty trick. There was nothing or no one outside but silence.

“I didn’t go back to sleep. Who could?”, he questioned. “As soon as the sun was up, I took my stuff and left the park”.

Just as they did with this man, the ghosts in this Miami campground and their spiteful tricks have scared off a few visitors before who are not the first and likely won’t be the last to experience such terror on these grounds.

California: Evil Shadow at the San Diego Old Point Loma Lighthouse? (2 Pics)

In April of 1854, San Diego was in the process of receiving a government funded lighthouse on Point Loma. The project included the establishment of six lighthouses total along the coastline. The location had been selected because it was close to the summit of Point Loma.

California is home to numerous lighthouses, but not all of them are as haunted as this one in San Diego.

bobindrums/flickr

The Historic Lighthouse of San Diego

The Point Loma Lighthouse was completed in October of the following year. As the lighthouse sat on a 400 foot cliff, it had the highest elevation of any lighthouse in the United States while it was in operation. However, due to the excessive fog in the area, many ships could not make out the light as they approached landfall.

As a result, the Point Loma Lighthouse ceased being used. It was last lit in March of 1891. Now there is a new lighthouse, called the New Point Loma Lighthouse, that lights up the coastline from a much lower elevation. What is now called Old Point Loma Lighthouse is still open to visitors.

Deirdre had decided to visit it because she had heard rumors that it was haunted. Some students at her high school had told her that they heard someone cry out when they were there. Eager to see a ghost, Deirdre decided to visit one day after school.

The Perfect Plan

I started hearing this low moan, echoing up and down the lighthouse.

beforeitsnew.com

“It had been overcast and rainy all day, and I remember sitting in math class thinking it was perfect weather for ghost hunting,” she laughed a little. I knew most of my friends wouldn’t take it seriously, so I just headed straight there after the last bell. I didn’t tell anyone where I was going.

“It was still raining when I made it to Old Point Loma,” she said. “As I started to climb the stairs, I started hearing this low moan, echoing up and down the lighthouse. The more I listened, the more I wondered what the hell was making that sound.

“The higher I climbed, the more intense the noise became around me,” Deirdre whispered. “I knew I wouldn’t be satisfied until I went all the way to the top. If I had been a ghost, that is where I would have hung out.

“The moment I took that last step onto the upper platform, I could tell the air was different all around me. It felt far colder, achingly cold. I hadn’t felt a moment’s apprehension until I made it up there,” she admitted.

“Suddenly a new shadow appeared on the wall opposite from where I stood. It was eerily human in shape, but nobody was up there with me at the time. I watched in fright as it glided towards the stairs and started to flow down them.

“I paced a couple of times, trying to clear my head,” Deirdre said, gesturing towards her temple. “I reminded myself that seeing a ghost is what I had come for, and that I better try to follow it. I ran down the spiral staircase as quickly as I dared.

“I scrambled my way to the bottom, but the shadow was nowhere to be seen. I drove back to San Diego overcome with so many emotions. My friends don’t believe me, but I know I saw a spirit at that lighthouse.”

The 10 Best RV Parks in Texas to Experience the Paranormal

Table of Contents [Hide Table of Contents]

10) Rio Guadalupe Resort – Canyon Lake, TX

If you're just passing through or staying a while (like the spirits that haunt the grounds), this is a nice spot to setup. The Rio Guadapule Resort is believed to be haunted, as many RV parks in Texas are.

rio guadapule resort/yelp

This lakeside resort is so close to an array of attractions; you’ll find yourself wondering how you can do it all. If music and dancing is your thing, be sure to check out LaLa’s Dam Red Barn, or Gruene Hall. The lake itself offers tubing, rafting and kayaking. If you think you’re a brave soul, you might want to visit the pavilion around 3 AM.

According to local legend, a siren is supposed to emerge from the lake and walk around this area at night. Just make sure to plug your ears if you see her…many folks have become hypnotized by her and havefollowed her into the lake to drown.

9) Fredericksburg KOA – Fredericksburg, TX

The Fredericksburg KOA in Texas has mixed reviews online, we're not sure if that has anything to do with the ghosts.

joe k/yelp

At Fredericksburg there’s no need to leave the campsite in order to hear good music! The park has its very own stage, and local musicians come and play for free on most Friday and Saturday nights. During the day, the town of Fredericksburg has a variety of activities to offer, including the theater, museums and boutique shopping.

If you like games, this site has horseshoe pits…just be sure to leave the area once it gets dark. Locals have said that a black, shadowy apparition emerges from the ground and lurks in this area. If it sees you, it will try to smother you inside of its black, swirling mass of a body.

8) Northshore RV Resort – Lake Livingston, TX

Lake Livingston's Northshore Resort in Texas is a lovely place to spend some time. Even the people who see ghosts are generally happy with their stay.

ellen h/yelp

With three hundred feet of shoreline and a private beach on Lake Livingston, Northshore is an ideal location for anyone who enjoys spending a lot of time down by the water. You can spend the day with your toes in the warm sand, or on a tube out in the water. While you may feel the environment is safe enough to let your kids roam free, make sure they avoid the lake if they are traveling by themselves.

Last year, a woman was warned by a medium, when she asked the psychic for guidance, to keep a watchful eye on her children on her next vacation. Several weeks later the woman and her family visited this RV park. Soon after, the woman’s young daughter told her that she had seen a “clear colored” man out in the water, beckoning her to join him. When she shook her head, the man started vomiting up a mysterious black liquid. It also ebbed from his eyes and his nose until she became so scared she ran away screaming.

7) Mill Creek Ranch Resort – Canton, TX

Canton Texas is home to a haunted RV park that goes by the name Mill Creek Ranch Resort. It's a beautiful place, at least before dark...

linda c/yelp

Those who enjoy fishing will be pleased with the seven large ponds at Mill Creek, which are heavily stocked with fish. This cottage and RV park also boosts several man made waterfalls, including one that drops into the outdoor pool. In nearby Tyler, be sure to check out the beautiful cats at Big Tiger Creek, as well as the Tyler Zoo.

Both are sure to be a big hit with kids. If you’re thinking about potentially renting out the Grand Lodge space for an on-site party, you may want to think again…Returning visitors avoid the facility, and claim that a poltergeist lives there.

The spirit has been known to throw objects across the room at anyone who enters the lodge alone. One young man even believes that the entity followed him back to his campsite, and trashed his RV while he was sleeping.

6) Buckhorn Lake Resort – Kerrville, TX

In Kerrville, there are plenty of real friendly folks to get to know, and a few ghosts, as you'd expect in Texas. Buckhorn is an excellent place to setup camp.

buckhorn lake resort/yelp

Of all the RV parks in Texas, Buckhorn is one of the few resorts that offer a section of the resort exclusively for campers who don’t have any children with them. For those of you who want a relaxing, quiet atmosphere in which to indulge yourself, then this area is for you.  Enjoy a peaceful day at the lake, or explore the lively nearby town Bandera—home to lively bars, venues, and special events, such as a choreographed gun fight in the streets!

Have an interest in the paranormal? Dare yourself to visit the recreation center on site around one in the morning. Rumor has it that a ghostly woman will appear, facing the wall in a corner of the room.

She will hum quietly to herself for a few minutes, before suddenly twisting her spine, bending herself in half before disappearing without a trace.

Bizarre ‘Lightning’ – Los Pargos, Costa Rica – June 10, 2014 (Pic)

Los Pargos, Costa Rica – 2014-06-10: On vacation in Costa Rica on Pacific side watching a lightning storm at night well offshore, storm was so far away out to sea could not hear the thunder. Snapped about 20 photos of the lightning and this photo immediately caught my attention. Never seen lightning in the shape of round balls, and it also has a strange v shape. None of the other lightning photos looked anything like this, took the photos over about a 20 minute period. You can see the palm tree and waves in foreground.

Never actually saw the round lights until reviewing photos some minutes later and noticed it looked strange. Please explain how lightning can look like this. Please feel free to examine photo though I would like to remain anonymous. Thanks. – MUFON

For just $125,000 a lucky person can own a haunted home in Mineral Wells, west of Fort Worth. An estimated total of nine ghosts come included with the home.

Currently listed with Source 1 Real Estate in the area, its known as the Haunted Hill House and has been the subject of countless videos and articles some of which can be found on its own website.

BOOOO!: The most haunted places in Texas

The property is just steps away from the famous Baker Motel, which in the 1930s was hopping as the area became a noted spa destination.

The ghostly two-story 2,800-square-foot residence has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms set on nearly two acres. It’s been appraised at nearly $26,000 but the curiosity factor, burgeoning location, and money-making possibilities drive up the price.

“Owner also stated NOT TO REMOVE any objects from home or property or house, spirits are attached to their belongings,” according to the estate listing. You better get used to having spirits living on top of you rent-free. Tearing the house down might just make matters worse, according to all the horror movies we’ve seen.

On Monday Source 1’s Becky Foley told Chron.com she doesn’t believe in ghosts per se but that she has felt eerie feelings while showing the home.

“There are spots with strange vibes,” she says, mentioning so-called cold spots and strange sounds.

“It’s really just an old house that needs a little TLC,” she added.

Nine spirits in total reside at the residence, according to paranormal experts. People have been scratched and bitten during the stays, but that doesn’t appear to be keeping anyone away from it.

It was built in 1890 by a woman named Fanny Yeager Kyle who lived in it until she died in 1924. It later became a brothel. According to lore one of the prostitutes had a handicapped child named Joshua who died in the home, which his spirit hasn’t left. Another ghost is apparently a man who fell into a well behind the residence.

Foley says the price tag of the home takes into account the money that can be made from the regular ghost tours that current owner Phil Kirchhoff has become known for.

“Alleged ghost venues and the paranormal does bring in megabucks,” Foley says. “To each his own.”

Presumably the new owner would have the option of keeping the ghost tours going, along with the income that would generate. It’s been on television numerous times and has cameras installed throughout for the tours and paranormal research involved.

Curious ghost hunters can visit Haunted Hill House, but reservations need to be made in advance. Prices start at $200 for a Friday night stay. No Ouija boards, please, and cleansing ceremonies are prohibited lest they rid the property of its most valuable residents.

The nearby Baker Motel is also due for a series of renovations which could bring people back to Mineral Wells, according to Foley, and make the property a decent investment aside from those ghostly roommates

The house does indeed look like it just needs a little love and care, although it might lose some of its creepy luster with a paint job and new floors. All it needs is Chip and Joanna Gaines, an old priest, a young priest, and thousands of dollars in repairs.

Is there a market for haunted Airbnb properties?
